The Gravel Grinder is our original and often-imitated fast gravel design. It combines a speedy diamond center for low rolling resistance with aggressive shoulder knobs that reliably hook-up when the terrain gets soft, muddy or a bit sketchy.
With our RACE series, we start where other tires stop - we utilize ultralight 120TPI nylon casings and superior tread compounds - to give our traditional vulcanized tires excellent ride feel and quality that is more affordable than our handmade offerings.
Challenge clincher tires are designed for use with tubes and hooked rims.

CASING – Nylon Superlight 120TPI
Vulcanized Nylon tire casings are the industry standard. Easy to produce and offering excellent durability and high performance at a moderate cost, they are the most common variety of tire available.
CASING PROTECTION – Standard
Vulcanized casings protect the nylon threads from the elements and offer standard pinch and cut protection.
TREAD COMPOUND – SMART-V
A specially formulated version of our SMART compound that is adapted to the different construction of vulcanized tires
PUNCTURE PROTECTION – PPS
Our Puncture Protection System (PPS) is a tough, tightly-woven fabric placed between the tread and casing to increase puncture resistance.
