Whether the velodrome surface is wood or concrete, nothing holds the sprinters line like the Pista.
This handmade SETA EXTRA (Ultra) tubular uses an ultra-compliant sealed Silk 1000TPI casing for unmatched performance with our SmartSoft compound for ultra-low rolling resistance. A seamless latex inner tube improves grip at lower pressures.
Remember you may need to use Challenge Presta Valve Extenders when mounting tubulars on deep-profile rims.

CONSTRUCTION: Handmade
Challenge handmade tires combine comfort, performance, and grip in a way other tires can't match. Our handmade tires are assembled step-by-step by experienced craftspeople. High quality natural glues and latex coatings are applied to ultra-supple casing materials like silk, cotton, or polyester. The result is a small-batch tire with a ride feel that is simply on a different level.
SERIES: ULTRA
Best of the Best – The extreme expense of silk (seta, in Italian) construction means ULTRA series tires are primarily for World Championship and Olympic competitions.
CASING: Silk 1000TPI
Silk is a strong, soft, natural fiber with thread counts over 1000tpi. The ability of our compliant sealed-silk tires to conform to even the smallest surface feature gives them great traction and very low rolling resistance.
COMPOUND: SMARTsoft
A more compliant rubber compound fine-tuned by Cyclocross World Champions for a smooth ride and maximum grip. SMARTsoft is also used on the special tires we developed with British Cycling for their Track program.
