With races all over Europe there was no shortage of events from Spain to Czech Republic. Nadja Heigl took 5th in Kolin while in the men’s race Nicolas Samparisi and Yannick Peeters took 8th and 9th respectively. Jakub Toupalik finished 2nd in the juniors continuing his great season.
Also on Saturday Northampton MA hosted the first of two days racing in what is one of North America’s longest running events. Ellen Noble took the win and got back to winning ways after 2nd place in the PanAm Champs.
A first big victory for Ben Turner of the Corendon – Circus team in Niel was a big breakthrough for the young rider from the UK. Having been strong all season, the DVV series looks to be where his focus will be this season. Loris Rouiller finished in 7th. Ellen van Loy took a podium place with 3rd in the women’s race.
Sunday also wasn’t short of events and Nicolas Samparisi took the win in Slovakia with brother Lorenzo in 4th. Meanwhile in the UK Anna Kay took her first win for her new team with victory in Crawley in the UK national Series and Francis Mourey took the win in France on a muddy course in Pierric.
In a big day for Delikia-Ginestar, Ismeal Estaban Aguero took the win ahead of teammate Felipe Ort Lloret. Feliepe hold the leader in the overall Spanish series with the podium finish.
Perhaps the biggest race of the weekend was the Superprestige in Gavere, Belgium. Behind a familiar looking podium in the Elite men’s race, Thomas Pidcock of TP Racing took a hugely impressive 4th place in what must be one of his best results when racing in with the Elites. Teammate Dan Tulett took 19th.
Ryan Cortjens took a huge win in the Junior event and showed his form in the mud, with Thibau Nys finishing 4th. In the Women’s event Helen Wyman narrowly missed the podium in a Sprint for 3th ending up with 5th place, ahead of Eva Lechner in 6th.
